Week 11 Recap

What a week it was!!!  Week 11 started off with playoff teams showing their muscle as teams such as defending champs Lincoln Park had an impressive  blow out wins vs Team Ullico.  They won by over 30pts.  Regular season champs Uptown Elite defeated a strong Sweat Mob team to advance.  The upsets of the week were Oohs & Ahhs Soul food who was a pre season favorite to win it all were defeated by The Fam and  The Roc boys went down to Georges All Stars.  I must admit all the teams most fans may have thought would be vying for the title have gone out quickly.  All of the games were close and hard-fought except the Lincoln Park game.    The Goodman vs Watts game was on Friday and was hard-fought though out.  The game eventually was called due to rain late in the 3rd quarter which for Watts was fortunate because The Goodman was coming on strong and had taken the lead.  The game will be replayed this coming Friday so be there.  Sunday’s Goodman Round Ball Classic was a great event, as Wise HS was jammed packed with fans of Chris Brown.  Chris Brown did not disappoint as he played well and showed he could hoop.  Every score was an opportunity for the girls to scream.   The game was great and hard-fought for a while but eventually the NBA pros lead by Memphis Grizzlie’s  Josh Selby took control and won the game by over 20pts.  The NBA pros who came were Gilbert Arenas, Josh Selby, David Hawkins, Atia, Shelvin Mack, Travis Hyman, and Chris Brown.   Wale had a great halftime performance and Yani Crawley brought down the house with her performance of the National Anthem.  All in all it was a great event!!!  We at the Goodman would like to thank all the NBA players, Goodman Players, Chris Brown, Wale and Yani Crawley for participating and making it a great event, without them it just wouldn’t have happened.   The Goodman would also like to thank the security teams, PG county police and the event staff led by Darlene Rowe who just made the event go smoothly.   And last but certainly not the least …THE FANS who came out and supported the event and helped raise money for giving back to the community!  Without the fans Goodman would be nothing!  Thanks Goodman Fans and supporters, your efforts are appreciated.  The 2012 Goodman League playoffs will resume this week as we get down to the final 4.  Check the schedule and the playoff bracket to follow the scores and see who is moving closer to winning the 2012 Goodman crown.    Dont forget the Watts game this coming Friday too!  Here are the highlights from the game produced by The Mars Reel  in case you missed it
